Jasmyn Johnson begins her first season as an assistant coach for the Blinn College women’s basketball team.
Johnson hails from Monroe, Louisiana, where she attended and played basketball for West Monroe High School. Following a strong prep career, Johnson played Division I basketball for Northwestern State University of Louisiana. During her four seasons with the Lady Demons (2016-2020), Johnson played in 104 games with 52 starts and averaged 6.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.7 steals. She excelled as a defender, finishing fourth in steals in the Southland Conference during the 2019-20 campaign.
Following her collegiate career, Johnson returned to West Monroe, where she coached girls basketball for one season.
Johnson later enlisted in the United States Air Force and served a two-year tour in Germany.
Following her military service, Johnson returned to coaching and accepted a position with Blinn head women's basketball coach Jeff Jenkins.
