Prior to a revival of Blinn College’s cross country program in the fall of 2024, the Buccaneers were the standard bearers of long-distance running in the 1990s.
Blinn captured men’s NJCAA national championships in 1993 and 1994, but folded the program prior to the 1995 season.
Blinn relaunched cross country in 2024 with a men’s team and its first women’s team.
Former NCAA Division I head coach Jesse Parker was hired in May 2024 to lead both team.
In their first season under coach Parker, both the Buccaneer men’s and women’s teams reached the NJCAA Division I Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships, where the men placed 20th overall while the women finished 21st.
