The Blinn College softball team is led by legendary head coach Rick Church.
In 26 seasons as head coach, Church has transformed the Buccaneers into one of Blinn’s winningest athletic programs, going 959-465.
Overall, Church holds a career record of 1,010-476. Church earned his 1,000th victory when the Buccaneers defeated Lamar State College-Port Arthur 8-2 on April 11, 2024. He ranks sixth in victories among the NJCAA’s active softball coaches and was inducted into the NJCAA Softball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2021.
Blinn has qualified for seven NJCAA Division I Softball World Series tournaments (2003, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2019), earning its best finish in 2003 when it placed second.
During Church’s run, Blinn has produced 85 athletes who have signed with four-year universities, 26 NJCAA All-Americans, more than 80 all-region players, and more than 60 NJCAA Academic All-Americans.
Blinn competes in the Region XIV South subdivision.
The Buccaneers play their home games at the Blinn College Softball Stadium inside Hohlt Park in Brenham, Texas.
