Blinn esports to host spring season tryouts on Jan. 15

Spots are available on each of the Buccaneers' six competitive teams

The three-time national champion Blinn College esports program will host open tryouts for the 2025 spring semester. 

Spots are open on the Buccaneers' six teams: Valorant, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Overwatch.  

Players of all skill levels are invited to try out. Prospective players must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours, and scholarship opportunities are available.  

Tryouts begin Wednesday, Jan. 15, and are available in person at the Blinn Esports Arena at Mill Creek Hall on the Blinn Brenham Campus, 1192 Old Mill Creek Rd in Brenham, and the Blinn RELLIS Campus Administration Building arena, 1366 Bryan Rd in Bryan. 

Tryouts may also be conducted online through the Blinn College Esports Discord channel, https://discord.gg/sD7qyVhM79. 

Tryout dates are: 
  • Jan. 15 - Valorant and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (in-person only) 
  • Jan. 16 League of Legends and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 
  • Jan. 17 - Rocket League 
  • Jan. 20 - Overwatch 
  • Jan. 21 - Call of Duty
  • Jan. 23-24 - Open tryout for all teams
