Marco A. Gonzalez Salazar

Marco A. Gonzalez Salazar enters his third season as Blinn's assistant women's soccer coach.

Previously, Gonzalez Salazar served as a volunteer goalkeeper coach for the Blinn men's and women's soccer programs for three seasons. During his tenure, he guided notable alumni such as Diego Berlingeri and David Yearwood (both at the University of Texas at Tyler) and Angel Chase (Northwestern Oklahoma State).

He also has served as an assistant coach for the USL League Two’s Twin City Toucans FC for the last two summers and helped train goalkeepers from Brenham High School.

Gonzalez Salazar grew up in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He started playing soccer at the age of four and played goalkeeper his entire life. He played at academies in Mexico and the United States, and also played recreational soccer.

Gonzalez Salazar earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology and is currently pursuing his master’s degree at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
