Brandon Colvin

Brandon Colvin enters his fourth year as Blinn College's assistant athletic director after spending 17 years in junior college athletics as a men's and women's basketball coach, athletic director, sports information director, and eligibility coordinator.

Prior to arriving at Blinn, Colvin spent one season as the head women's basketball coach at Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colo. He arrived at Lamar following four years at Lake Land College in Mattoon, Ill., where he served as the head men's basketball coach, sports information director, and eligibility coordinator. While at Lake Land, Colvin also chaired the college's Behavioral Intervention Team and served on its Title IX team.

From 2014-16, Colvin served as the head men's basketball coach and athletic director at Dakota College at Bottineau in Bottineau, N.D. In addition to leading the men's basketball program, he oversaw athletic department operations and managed eligibility for the college's men's and women's basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, football, and ice hockey programs. During his two-year tenure, Dakota College won two national championships in ice hockey, Region XIII championships in both men's and women's basketball, and made two football bowl game appearances. He also oversaw numerous NJCAA Academic All-America selections and teams recognized as NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year.

Before joining Dakota College, Colvin spent one season as the head men's basketball coach at Minnesota State Community & Technical College in Fergus Falls, Minn. He also spent three years coaching internationally, working first with Qatar's national team before coaching professionally in Denmark and Bahrain.

Prior to his international coaching experience, Colvin spent two seasons as an assistant men's basketball coach and sports information director at North Dakota State College of Science, helping guide the Wildcats to the NJCAA National Tournament in his first season. He began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant men's basketball coach at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa, in 2005 before moving to Western Texas College from 2006-08.

A native of Waverly, Ill., Colvin earned a bachelor's degree in business computer systems from Bradley University and a master's degree in sports administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
