Following a long and distinguished career as a Blinn softball assistant coach, Jami Ingram begins a new chapter as the head coach of the Buccaneers.
A former Blinn student-athlete and assistant coach for more than two decades, Ingram brings extensive experience and a deep connection to the Buccaneer softball program to her role as head coach. She was born and raised in Richmond, British Columbia, before beginning her collegiate playing career at Blinn.
Ingram played for longtime Blinn head coach and NJCAA Hall of Fame inductee Rick Church during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. She earned All-Region XIV honors in both seasons and was a member of the academic honor roll all four semesters. Ingram also was named a President’s Scholar during the spring of 2000.
Following her Blinn career, Ingram continued playing at Texas Woman’s University, where she started both seasons for the Pioneers and earned numerous accolades.
As a junior, Ingram was named second-team all-conference, first-team all-region, and third-team All-American as a designated hitter. She also earned Academic All-American honors in 2002. During her senior season, she was named first-team all-conference, first-team all-region, and first-team All-American as a catcher. Ingram also was named the 2003 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Diamond Sports Division II Catcher of the Year.
Ingram's accomplishments at Texas Woman's earned her induction into the school's Hall of Fame in 2012.
Following her playing career, Ingram spent two years as a graduate assistant coach at Texas Woman’s while completing her master’s degree in 2004 and 2005. She then returned to Blinn, where she spent more than 20 seasons assisting Church.
During her tenure on the Blinn staff, Ingram earned two regional and national coaching honors. She and Church were named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Midwest Coaching Staff of the Year following the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
Ingram, Church, and Haley Long were named the NFCA Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year and the Region XIV Coaching Staff of the Year in 2011 and 2012. Ingram, Church, and Jaymie Heibel earned NFCA Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2015, while Church and Ingram were named the Region XIV Coaching Staff of the Year in 2019.
In addition to her coaching duties, Ingram also is a member of the Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen Association.
Ingram holds an associate degree in kinesiology from Blinn (2001), a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with a teaching certification from Texas Woman's (2003), and a master's degree in kinesiology from TWU (2005).
