The Blinn College men’s basketball team is led by NJCAA Hall of Fame head coach Scott Schumacher
Since the 1961-62 season, Blinn has produced six NJCAA All-America selections, numerous all-region athletes, and two NBA players: Chris Andersen and Oliver Lafayette.
Entering his 13th season with the Buccaneers, Schumacher has led Blinn to a 230-140 overall record and a 113-105 Region XIV mark while registering 11 winning seasons and 13 consecutive berths in the Region XIV Tournament. Schumacher has also coached one NJCAA All-American, guard Elijah Elliott in 2022-23. More than 90 of Schumacher’s former players have transferred to the four-year level.
Schumacher was inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 2023. Schumacher entered the 2024-25 season with a career record of 657-379 and is 10th in wins among active NJCAA coaches. Across 34 seasons, Schumacher has coached three former NBA players and 13 NJCAA All-Americans.
Blinn competes in Region XIV.
