No. 10 Blinn comes up short against No. 4 Tyler in Region 14 opener

The Buccaneers face Jacksonville in region play on the road Saturday

No. 10 Blinn College men's soccer fell 2-0 to No. 4 Tyler Junior College in a Region 14 clash Friday in Tyler, Texas.

The Buccaneers dropped to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in region play.

"I thought the players executed the tactical plan well today, which kept us competitive throughout and gave us an opportunity to snatch a result late in the game," Blinn head coach Michael McBride said. "Ultimately, missing a crucial one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper in the final moments, while trailing by a single goal, proved costly with us conceding a second goal in the final minute."

The Bucs will look to get into the region win column when they face Jacksonville College at noon on Saturday in Jacksonville, Texas.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 53 national championships since 1987.
