Blinn esports to host spring season tryouts beginning Jan. 16

Full-time Blinn students are invited to try out for the Buccaneers’ six competitive teams

The two-time national champion Blinn College esports program is welcoming all full-time Blinn students to try out for its six competitive teams.

Prospective players will vie for spots on the Buccaneers' Valorant, Overwatch, Call of Duty, Super Smash Bros, Rocket League, and League of Legends teams ahead of the 2024 spring season.

Tryouts will begin Tuesday, Jan. 16, and end Thursday, Jan. 18. Tryouts will be held as follows:

Jan. 16, 5-9 p.m. – Valorant and Super Smash Bros

Jan. 17, 5-9 p.m. – Call of Duty and Overwatch

Jan. 18, 5-9 p.m. – League of Legends and Rocket League

Tryouts are available in person or through the Blinn College Esports Discord channel at https://discord.gg/rw839Vzv7V.  

In-person tryouts will take place at the Blinn esports arenas located at?Mill Creek Hall (Brenham Campus), Building D Room 139 (Bryan Campus), and the Blinn RELLIS ?Administration Building (RELLIS Campus).

Scholarship opportunities are available for players who earn a spot on a team and qualify.
