Blinn College

Dr. Carnell De’leon Simmons is an active musician, educator and creative facilitator dedicated to building learning communities that promote creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. He joined the Blinn College faculty in spring 2024 and serves as Assistant Director of Bands.

Simmons’ research focuses on understanding the pathways to creative autonomy and the ways individuals and communities can cultivate creativity and innovation.

He holds a Doctor of Music Education from Liberty University, a Master of Music from Tarleton State University and a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University. He also earned an associates degree from Blinn as a member of the Buccaneer band.
