Brittany Arredondo enters her first season as an assistant softball coach at Blinn College, returning to the Buccaneers program where she enjoyed a decorated playing career as a shortstop.
Arredondo brings more than a decade of coaching experience to Blinn. She served as the head softball coach at Ferndale High School from 2018-26 after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Jack C. Hays High School from 2014-16.
Prior to beginning her coaching career, Arredondo established herself as an accomplished collegiate player. She played shortstop at Blinn during the 2010 and 2011 seasons, earning Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division I Midwest Region Second Team honors as a freshman.
Arredondo put together a standout sophomore campaign in 2011, starting all 63 games and leading the Buccaneers with a .441 batting average and .506 on-base percentage while scoring 72 runs. She earned NJCAA First-Team All-American honors, Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Midwest Region First Team recognition, Region XIV All-Region and All-Conference First Team honors, and Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division I All-America Second Team recognition.
Following her time at Blinn, Arredondo continued her collegiate career at the University of Houston-Victoria, where she played during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. She was a two-time NFCA All-Southwest Region First Team and A.I.I. All-Conference First Team selection and earned NAIA Division I All-American recognition as a senior. Arredondo also was named UHV Newcomer of the Year in 2012 and Co-Female Athlete of the Year in 2013.
Arredondo attended Smithson Valley High School before beginning her collegiate career at Blinn. Her return to the Buccaneers as a coach marks a homecoming to the program where she first established herself as a standout collegiate player.
