No. 12 Blinn places sixth at Texarkana Invitational

Sophomore Ben Potter shot 14-over to take finish seventh individually

The 12th-ranked Blinn College men's golf team finished sixth at the eight-team Texarkana Invitational on Tuesday in Texarkana, Ark.

The two-day, three-round tournament was hosted by NAIA program Texas A&M University-Texarkana at the Texarkana Country Club.

Tyler Junior College – ranked 10th in the NJCAA – won the team title.

As a team, Blinn finished 91-over par.

Forty-eight golfers made up the individual field.

Sophomore Ben Potter recorded the Buccaneers' best finish with a 14-0ver performance good for a seventh-place tie. He was just two strokes shy of champion Noah Sandlin of Tyler, who finished 12-over. Five golfers shot 13-over to tie for second place.

Blinn freshman Broc Talamantez followed Potter at 22-over for 13th place, and sophomore Cody Peters finished 25th at 27-over.

The Bucs conclude their regular season at the two-day Midwestern State Invitational hosted by Midwestern State University beginning Tuesday, March 24, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
