|Title:||Volunteer Men's Soccer Assistant|
Xanthe Sanchez enters her first season as the volunteer coach for the Blinn College men’s and women’s soccer teams.
Sanchez was a four-year starter and three-year captain at Sam Rayburn High School and received a scholarship from the University of St. Thomas. She played as a forward for the Celts her freshman season and started in six games.
In 2016, she transferred to LeTourneau University to finish her playing career. She played in 14 games and started in three, scored two goals and recorded one assist, and posted a .600 shots on goal percentage. She graduated from LeTourneau with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in exercise science and a minor in nutrition.
In 2017, she began performance coaching at Stack Velocity Sports Performance, where she trained athletes of all ages to efficiently develop in all areas of competition.
Since 2018, Sanchez has been the women’s soccer coach at Lone Star College-North Harris. Under Sanchez, the Hurricanes made back-to-back championship appearances in 2018 and 2019, and won the championship in 2019 for a bid to regionals.
She is currently working on her Master of Education in kinesiology in sport and health from Hardin Simmons University and is set to graduate this December.
