BRENHAM, Texas- The Blinn College men's basketball team earned a 74-67 win over Lone Star College-Cy Fair on Wednesday night in the P.E. Building.
"We played a really good aggressive first half and were intense on defense," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "I thought Cy Fair did a good job of attacking us, but I give our guys credit for hanging in there and pulling out the win."
The Buccaneers came out strong to finish the first half with a 38-23 lead. Although Lone Star College fought back to post 44 points in the second half, the Buccaneers remained in control of the game and walked off the court with a 74-67 victory.
With the win, the Buccaneers improved their record to 4-1.
Blinn will take on Weatherford College in a pre-conference game on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. in the P.E. Building.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
